The dog is often brought into the room to check if all the bed bugs have been eradicated after a thorough inspection and cleaning has been done. Furthermore, there are companies that train dogs to be certified bed bug detecting dogs with training that costs approximately six hundred to one thousand hours. After the training the dogs can either be owned by an individual for personal use or by a company that is involved in pest management control.
